My very first bumper was built in 2007 using zip disks and an oxy-acetylene torch, welded off the back of a pipeliner welding rig and blended to perfection with a 6" grinder, all in the parking lot of a condo complex in Okotoks, AB. Needless to say, I was resourceful and determined to make a bumper.
The original concept, for many years, had been a home-based hobby that evolved into a semi-serious pursuit—an outlet for me to create and refine my off-road creations in my spare time. As my skills and tooling evolved, I aspired to take on much more complex and unique projects, leading me to build more than just custom, one-off bumpers, rock sliders, and roof racks. I dove into flatbeds and bed racks and eventually the ability to build and outfit off-road trailers and enclosed trailer up-fitting. That experience led to all the work in between, like motorsports, marine, and much of the wrenching that touches upon this amazing industry and most importantly my passions.
It's high time to dive into this area of expertise head-on! Thus became "Purpose Built Fabworks" - 22 years of multi-industry manufacturing and fabrication coming to a focal point.
